What does IPL treatment mean?
IPL stands for intense pulsed light. It is also known as a photofacial. IPL is a corrective laser therapy, which specifically treats most red and brown spots on the face and body. IPL is also perfect for reducing hyper-pigmentation, freckles, sun damage, redness, rosecea, broken capillars on the face. The IPL is a relatively easy procedure with little or no downtime.
How many sessions do I need?
For optimum results, it is recommended to receive 3 IPL treatments 4 weeks apart. However, wonderful results can be achieved with only 1 session.
How long does the treatment take?
Appointment duration depends on the size of the area being treated as well as how many areas are being treated per session. An IPL treatment takes about 30 to 45 minutes. If neck and chest are being done in addition to the face, please allow more time.
Is there any downtime or pain involved?
Downtime is minimal after an IPL treatment. Patients may resume normal activities, barring extremely vigorous activity, following treatment. You are advised to use sunscreen and stay out of the sun following treatment.
