How Do Cosmetic Injections Work?
Before administering cosmetic injections, Dr. Awa will gain insight into your desired results during a consultation. She will determine which products will best help you reach your aesthetic goals: wrinkle relaxers or dermal fillers. Wrinkle relaxers temporarily freeze the facial muscles that cause fine lines with a purified strain of botulinum toxin type A. Dermal fillers fill in hollowed or sunken areas. A topical numbing cream will be used to ease discomfort during your cosmetic injection treatment. A thin needle will be used to deliver your treatment. We utilize a cold compress right after the injections to minimize soreness and bruising. Depending on the selected formula and number of injections, your treatment may last around 10 – 15 minutes, and then you can return to your typical day.
